David Manda, Director

If you could write your own job title that best describes what you do here, what would it be?

“Property Problem Solver”

Graduate Profile

What volunteering or passion projects do you do outside of work?

“My main passion is sports. I have undertaken a variety of challenges to try and raising money for charity the most recent of which was the Great North Run. Having two young children means my weekends are spent with their various activities.”

What’s your biggest achievement to date?

“In a professional capacity, it has to be winning my first trial where I was the lead solicitor. It made the years of hard work worthwhile.”

What advice/quote would you give to future graduates wanting to join Walker Morris?

“Do it and when you are here soak up as much experience as you can from as many people as possible because the calibre of solicitors is second to none!”

What one thing do you love about your job?

“No case or work day is the same. Because my practice covers a broad spectrum of commercial real estate dispute, my caseload involves a myriad of issues and so no day is ever boring. Equally, my development practice means that when you assist a client with a particular issue often it leads to helping achieve a significant development that may not otherwise have come to fruition.”

Why did you choose us?

“I came to Walker Morris in 2016 having moved to Yorkshire in 2013. I knew Walker Morris’ reputation and status in the legal market but it was only when I came to the interview and discussed the type of work that they covered and the client base the firm has did I fully appreciate what a great opportunity it was to work at the firm. Since joining the initial friendly and approachable feel I had in the interview process has shone through and not only from my immediate team but the wider firm. Everyone has time for each other and is genuinely willing!”
